A common thread in life in our society is that we all do at least one act that changes our life forever, like a rite of passage or a point of no return.
While there is a crime and some mystery in this story, it’s not the whole story.
I wanted the story to be about how we, as human beings, rationalize our actions so we can live with them. Perhaps we sacrifice one thing for another and punish ourselves for what we perceive to be the things that we think we have done wrong. Consequences start accumulating and we don’t really know where they are going to land or how we are going to cope, all the while pretending nothing is amiss, going about our daily lives seeking moments of joy and happiness.
Another of life’s common threads is that eventually we must eventually come to terms with the consequences of our actions, our conscience and maybe even a God if we have one.
I have tried to make this story about a journey of the human spirit replete with wants and needs, hopes and dreams, triumphs and tragedies, flaws and foibles, all the things that go into making each of us so perfectly human.
